A Family Week

To celebrate Mr T's BIG birthday, ( it was in November but no one wanted to go away then!!) the family jetted off to sunnier climes

We had rented this beautiful villa in Portugal

and most of the week was spent here

 or somewhere like this
with maybe a few of these

and it was wonderful.  Lots of fun and laughter, good food with great company. No sewing or knitting or crochet done and I only opened my book the day before we came home.  Perfect!

I had seen a video tutorial to make this little dress and managed to get one made before we went and it fitted Little Miss who loves a twirly skirt

The hanging basket survived our absence

My Clematis is producing flowers the size of dinner plates
And I have now got t get my May Mini Mania started!!
But the sun is out so it will be done in the garden

Mini Mania Reveal

So, I have been a bit productive since I last blogged.
To start with I had made TWO Mini Mania Challenges - This month's subject was Triangles.

During March I had culled my scrap bin (again!) and had decided that it was time to get rid of some scrappy triangles that were left over when I had made a cushion using the idea from this blog

They had sat waiting for me to decide to make another cushion, but that had never materialised so - out of the bin they came and in a trice - Challenge finished.

 Then the guilt crept in.

It was cheating.

I must do better.

I must do another one.

I opened another box and found some half square triangles that I had used making the October Challenge

So I put these together and -

et voilΓ !

A second finish

I decided that two cheats count as a good one so -  done and done. πŸ˜›

The May Challenge will be Tumbling Blocks and I am armed ready

maybe a bit Tooooo small"

After a visit from Sister No3 who was stopping by en route from the USA to France
(alright for some) we spent the May Bank Holiday weekend down "Sarf" helping No1Son to strip and stain his decking and (manyπŸ˜…πŸ‘) other general chores about his garden and a few house tasks too.   I cannot complain, as it (may) have been my idea to help. I did think that it would take much less time as the little darlings were away for a few days with the other Grandma.  He has a knack of making sure we are hard at work and then seemed to disappear only to return just before the task was complete to admire "his" work πŸ˜–πŸ˜³πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

Anyway - DIL was pleased that these jobs had been done before the summer.

I had seen a little dress with a crochet bodice and thought that I would give it a try.

A couple of false starts as my tension was quite loose so down two hook sizes and off I go.

And in no time, another finish!!

This may be packed into my suitcase ready for a family holiday. I hope that it will fit!

I have also completed the crochet border on my High Tea Fusion quilt
These are all laid out on my dining table hopefully to be joined together before the week is out.

And the Puff Quilt is all ready for stuffing ( my way of completing this fiddly job) which may or may not be done this week as the garden has been calling my name

Just a note for Susan who I think is from Australia, The link to your blog does not seem to be working - I would love to see what you are up to.  If you change from a "no reply blogger" then I can get the details from you. xx
